A trip to Audemars Piguet House - Hong Kong
Andy recently dropped in to the new(ish) AP House in Hong Kong...
I (Andy) recently enjoyed visiting the newly opened Audemars Piguet House in Hong Kong. It was an experience that genuinely lived up to the brand’s reputation for luxury and refinement and, honestly, a refreshing example of what retail should be. In fact, it gave me hope for the future of watch shopping.
The lobby of The Henderson, where I patiently waited to be set up.
The ‘boutique’ (yes, they sell watches there) is located within the iconic Henderson Building, a striking 36-storey skyscraper situated in the heart of ‘Central’. Designed by the famous Zaha Hadid Architects, this architectural masterpiece is as much a work of art as the watches displayed inside.
Now, if you’ve not been to Hong Kong or seen the Henderson Building, it is one of the world’s most expensive and sought-after buildings in one of the world's most expensive and sought-after commercial districts.
The site at 2 Murray Road, where the building stands, was famously reported as the world’s most expensive plot of land when sold a few years back for a staggering US$3 billion (close to 5B’s in Aussie $).
I say this to set the scene and the physical positioning of this new and very fitting home for the Audemars Piguet House - who do luxury exceptionally well.
Inside, the AP House continues this theme of sophistication. The fit-out is nothing short of extraordinary—sleek, refined, and designed to immerse visitors in haute horlogerie. I'd believe you if you told me they’d spent eight figures on it.
From the moment I entered, I was struck by the seamless integration of modern design elements and the brand's rich heritage. The space was carefully curated to showcase Audemars Piguet’s iconic timepieces, with a selection of models that ranged from the iconic Royal Oak to exclusive, limited-edition pieces.
Among the delightful surprises in the boutique was the custom Audemars Piguet-branded coffee machine (a GS3 for those wondering), which offered a perfect pairing to the experience. As someone who appreciates coffee and fine watchmaking, sipping on a perfectly brewed espresso while admiring these masterpieces felt like the ultimate indulgence.
Overall, the visit to the Audemars Piguet House was an unforgettable experience. The combination of the Henderson Building’s breathtaking architecture, the brand’s unparalleled craftsmanship, and the exclusivity of the location made it a truly special destination—one that embodies the luxury and timeless appeal of Audemars Piguet.
Of course, as a long-time fan - trying on so many hard-to-get/unicorn Royal Oaks was a treat, especially as an Australian with very little in the way of AP ADs. The 37MM two-tone Royal Oak was the model that stole my heart.
Yep, this is the AP for me - a darling with double denim. (I should have taken some pictures of the views, sorry).
The Royal Oak Frosted Gold (Ref. 15550BA.GG.1356BA.01) - is again in the brilliant size of 37mm. I can think of worse ways to spend 100K.
Absolutely killer, the Code 11.59 (Ref. 77410OR.OO.A342CR.01)
The highlight of this visit was spending some time with the CODE 11:59, a model which I (embarrassingly) have never actually seen before. As I said, Australia has very little in the way of AP representation (at the moment), and it’s a pretty uncommon watch to spot on the street. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the early CODE, but this tweaked iteration in the smaller 38mm case is quite lovely. To me, it’s quite a refreshing design that incorporates the right amount of the brand's DNA (e.g the Royal Oak) without depending on it (see Cubitus).
So that’s the watch highlights, but what was my overall impression?
It might just be the best luxury boutique I’ve ever seen.
I know the AP glaze is strong here, but no - we weren’t paid/sponsored in any way/shape/form for this - I think they deserve the praise in this instance.
AP do cool shit so well.

Is it the type of situation where any old “window shopper” can come in, get frisked, and do some retail therapy without buying?
I had a great time
